In celebration of the Grade 3s Space Theme, Fun Science Secret Lab came to DPHS and allowed the boys to discover the laws of physics, chemistry and biology in a fun way.
The show started with a secret invisible message, which the boys had to uncover by choosing the correct ingredients.
While exploring space, the boys were shown a number of experiments including an erupting volcano as found on Venus, they were taught about the the geyser effect which is created by exothermal chemical reaction using potassium permanganate and hydrogen peroxide.
And everyone’s favouite was experimenting with dry ice. The boys learnt that dry ice is frozen gas, it does not melt, it sublimates.
Thanks to Fun Science Secret Lab, learning about science and space was so much fun!!
