Design & Technology

The Grade 7 boys are entrusted with tools and equipment allowing them to design and laser cut the desk lamps.
They begin by designing their desk lamps on Google Sketch Up Pro, They learn how to convert jpeg images into vector diagrams using Inkscape. This is followed by their designs being laser cut and then the fun starts with them doing some electronic work.
In order to equip them in their Robotic futures they also solder some alarm kits, before using the programming knowledge that they have gained in their I.T. lessons to build some Arduino projects including sensors and servo motors.

What an incredible opportunity these boys have to learn through these modern technologies that are available at DPHS.
