The Trust, which is a separate statutory legal body to the school, was formed in 1985 and from its small beginnings through the Prep Beyond 2000 project, it now collects revenue in excess of R500 000 per annum in pledges, donations and other fund raising events. It currently owns five properties in close proximity to the school, including the Reception Unit and After Care properties. The Reception Unit and After Care units are private facilities, not controlled or funded by the State and hence the parents, together with the Trust, fund these facilities.

The school and Trust have had an amazing partnership over the years, and the Trust has played an integral part in the development of the school, in facilitating and providing: physical amenities to enable the school to broaden its curriculum and at the same time providing more space as the school has grown; assisting with staff development and fulfilling a social responsibility of offering bursaries, scholarships and financial assistance to those less fortunate families.

Recently the Trust has re-branded its existing pledge system from ‘Prep Beyond 2000’ to ‘Prep towards 2010’. This pledge system will continue to fund capital expansion in the school. I have confidence that this school with its experienced teacher body together with the commitment and support of the parent body will continue to deliver quality education into the future.
